JEALOUSY: Gateway to a great destruction (ENGLISH)

Jealousy:
Gateway to a great destruction

It was the Parent - Teacher’s day. The teachers were waiting with the marks to share the performance of the students to their parents. The parents were meeting the teachers individually discussing the achievement of their wards and receiving the progress reports.

Frances (12th std) and  Mary’s (10th std) parents had not come to school that day. Mary and Francis went to their class teacher and told them the reason as to why their parents had not come and collected their progress report, Francis was frightened when he returned home. His parents would have seen Mary’s progress report. He imagined when compared to Mary’s marks, his marks were  not that commendable. If Mary had got more than 90% in each subject she would get a gift (new dress, etc) from her parents. Thinking like this Francis reached home. When he opened the front door he heard his parents talking in the front room.

Mary, “As usual your progress report is an excellent one”, so her father was saying. “Little one, I feel proud when I think of you”, said her mother, “You have worked hard”

Francis tried to rush across the room ignoring the three. Before he reached the next room, his mother called for him saying, “Let’s see how have you fared in your exams”.

Francis thought to himself that the 3rd world war was going to begin. He turned around and reached his mother and took out the crushed progress report from his bag.

His mother opened the report and commented that, “This too were  good marks”. His father who was immersed in deep thought replied, “Hmm....”

You have scored good marks in Maths, which shows progress. Francis said, “But still I did not score good marks like Mary. I did not do well like Mary” saying so he put the family into a great shock and bang the door shut and went out of the house.

The jealousy which Francis had over Mary put their parents into a dilemma as to what to reply to Francis. Act 13:44 to 52, The jealousy of some Jews over Paul and Barnabas misled them, the way in which they had to be treated.

ANSWER PLEASE (MEDITATES)
1. Why were Francis and the Jews filled with jealousy? What were the results of their jealousy ?
2. Have you ever felt jealous over any one at any time? What results have you achieved on account of that?

ATTENTION PLEASE:

Don’t compare yourself with others. Make a list of your talents. In which talent did you do good.
Later read the names of those who put you into jealousy.
Later praise God (surprise) for those who put you into jealousy.
